Technology Cart Management Procedures

In order to provide clear procedures for management of technology carts, the template below should be updated to document the technology cart management procedures used at your school.

Technology Cart Management Procedure Template

Follow these steps when updating the example:

  • Use the Technology Cart Management Procedures Template to document the procedures used for one type of cart.
  • Update the template to reflect your school’s information and procedures.
  • Some of your current procedures may not meet best practices. Use this opportunity to revise your procedures to work towards compliance with best practices.
  • Create additional documents for each type of technology cart: laptop, ChromeBook, iPod, etc.
  • The completed documents should be reviewed by your Media Committee (which includes an administrator) to approve the procedures.
  • Store these documents in your Substitute Binder kept at the Circulation Desk.

Reading Rewards Card

Encourage your students to checkout and read more often with a rewards card. Below are three styles you can edit and use with your students. For best results:

  • Download the card that most closely matches your independent reading program goals.
  • Edit the school name on each card.
  • If desired, change the squares to more closely match your independent reading program goals.
  • Print the cards on color card stock paper for attractiveness and durability.
  • Print and attach patron barcode labels for each card.
  • Laminate the cards for added durability.
  • Purchase a sturdy hole punch – maybe even one in the shape of a star.

Reading Passports

One method of tracking what students are reading and comprehending is by using a Reading Passport. The documents below provide Reading Passports for each  grade level. The choice of which genres students are challenged to read are based on the genres included in the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards.
